Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sharapova Headline U.S. Open’s Female International Stars

Serena Williams
may be the world's most dominant women's tennis player, but her only appearances at Flushing Meadows will be as a guest in the broadcast booth, an autograph signer on the grounds, and a fan of sister Venus.

In her absence, women's tennis' many international stars will be favored to win the U.S. Open crown. Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki owns the tournament's top seed, and won her second-round match by a laughable score of 6-0, 6-0.

Russia's Maria Sharapova, after a stretch of battling injuries, looks to be on her game at this year's Open, and defending champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium hasn't lost at the event in her last two tries.

Those three are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to women's international tennis stars. The game is dominated by them.
