Sylvester Stallone seems to churn out movie ideas like Rocky Balboa throws punches: Erratic but effective.
Even at his age, the 64-year-old Stallone is still coming up with new twists for the legendary series, as he tweeted a pitch for a new Rocky film on Monday.
"The New Rocky… Update it with a young man with modern problems, but he would not be called Rocky, just the philosophy would be used,” he tweeted.
To clarify, Stallone wants to make a new movie using the same concept as Rocky. This innovative idea quickly piqued fans' interest as one follower tweeted back, "Will it be boxing based or mma do to it's rapid raise in popularity?"
Stallone, not to be outdone in intellect, responded, "I would not be in it… It is an modern extension of the heart and philosophy . MMA too."
But apparently Stallone had a change of heart as he sent out another tweet a few hours later.
"I am only joking about the new Rocky . Never happen. I owe my life to that noble little character and would never diminish that for $$$$ ."
Still, he left the door open for someone else to scoop up his brainchild, adding, "Yet a great MMA film should be done at once … Love must be the central theme like my buddy Rocky experienced. Pleasure/pain= LIFE."
