Brett Favre Has Fractures in Ankle, Putting Status for Patriots Game in Jeopardy

All that limping by Brett Favre on Sunday night wasn't for show, and the quarterback's record streak of consecutive games started is at serious risk of ending at 290.

Favre has a stress fracture and evulsion fracture in his ankle, head coach Brad Childress announced Monday at a news conference, according to several reports. Favre will be wearing a walking boot for the time being.

Childress, however, did not rule out Favre for Sunday's game in New England.

Favre injured the ankle Sunday night in Green Bay on a night when his three interceptions had Childress considering benching the quarterback.

Interestingly enough, Favre was injured when he was matched up with the Patriots in 2006. Then a Packer, Favre started the game but then got knocked out with an elbow injury in the first half. His streak, at the time, was at 251.
