John Henry and the rest of his New England Sports Ventures group have to wait until Friday at the earliest for the purchase of Liverpool FC to be made official.

According to The Associated Press, a hearing in Texas to discuss the temporary restraining order filed by Liverpool’s current American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillet, was adjourned Thursday and will reconvene early Friday morning in Dallas.

Hicks and Gillet are attempting to block the sale of Liverpool, and NESV has filed a motion for the restraining order to be thrown out.

The London High Court ruled in favor of Liverpool and the prospective buyers on Thursday morning. An injunction was granted against Hicks and Gillett for their actions in obtaining the restraining order. It was initially thought that the ruling would pave the way for the deal to go through.

Now, Hicks and Gillett have until Friday to repay debts of upward of $400 million to the Royal Bank of Scotland.
