Report: Clavicle Fracture Sidelines Tony Romo for at Least Six Weeks

Tony Romo tried to get back into the game after sustaining an injury in the second quarter of Monday night’s Cowboys-Giants game. The training staff had none of it.

They were right to do so as Romo suffered a fractured clavicle when he was hit by Giants linebacker Michael Boley.

The injury should keep him out at least six-to-eight weeks, according to owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Romo will undergo an MRI to further explore the extent of the injury, reports the The Dallas Morning News.

As a result of Romo’s injury, Jon Kitna will be under center until at least December.

“I’m staying optimistic,” said Romo, whose Cowboys are 1-5 with 10 games remaining. “This football team has a lot of high-character guys, a lot of competitive individuals who aren’t going to give in to a tough situation.”
