Shaquille O'Neal Pulls Off 'Statue Shaq' in Harvard Square (Photos) When Shaquille O’Neal signed with the Celtics, Boston anticipated big plays and even bigger laughs.
So far, Shaq has delivered on both fronts.

Just a day after the Celtics ended their preseason, Shaq was at it again, reminding his new city it is so lucky to have him.

Earlier this preseason, Shaq tweeted that he would appear in Harvard Square as a statue, and sure enough, on Thursday he followed through on his promise.

“On my way to Barbara square it’s statue time,” the center tweeted, an hour before he appeared.

He quickly corrected himself: “I mean on my way to harvard square lol dam I phone my fingers r to big statue time.”

Hundreds showed up and got closer to the 7-foot behemoth than they ever would at the TD Garden.
