It was 35 years ago on Oct. 21, 1975, that Red Sox fans watched with bated breath as Carlton Fisk‘s drive soared near the left-field foul pole, with the catcher frantically waving for the ball to stay fair.
As everyone remembers, the ball did stay fair — winning the Red Sox Game 6 of the 1975 World Series in the 12th inning at Fenway Park. The Red Sox certainly know how to keep their fans under suspense until the last minute.
