Oregon Athletic Department Takes Ridiculous Design Talents to New Basketball Court, Kilkenny Floor

There is only one champion when it comes to ridiculous uniforms. Now, the folks at University of Oregon — or more correctly, Nike — are taking their talents to architecture.

The Ducks have unveiled the floor to the new Matthew Knight Arena, and it appears to be in the image of a Northwestern forest.

Unsurprisingly, it was designed by Nike’s Tinker Hatfield.

“When I was asked to work on the new floor for Matthew Knight Arena, I really boiled it down to three things,” Hatfield told Yahoo! Sports. “I really wanted to pay tribute to Matthew Knight himself, to the Kilkenny family and lastly but maybe not least, I wanted to pay tribute to the Pacific Northwest and the Tall Firs, the original basketball team that won a national championship for the University of Oregon in 1939.”

The court, named Kilkenny Floor, has also been specifically designed to confuse and intimidate opponents.

The only question now is what green and yellow costumes the Ducks basketball teams put on when they are playing “deep in the woods.”

Free Stephen Jackson.

“Wow. The NFL’s where the players gets fined for playing, and the NHL is the league where headshots are illegal but suspensions are minimal. MLB is where the umpires can’t distinguish strikes from balls, and NOW the NBA is where everyone’s fined for opening their mouths. What is this???”
