Jerod Mayo Fined $10,000 for Second Quarter Hit Against Bills

The NFL will be taking $10,000 out of Jerod Mayo's paycheck for a second-quarter hit in Buffalo last Sunday.

Mayo came away with two crushing hits against the Bills in the second quarter, but the league did not disclose which hit drew the fine. It was either a fourth-and-12 hit on receiver Steve Johnson or a second-and-8 blast on Dave Nelson, according to ESPN.com.

The hit on Nelson left the receiver stunned, as he stayed down after the tackle.

Mayo recorded five tackles in the Patriots' 34-3 victory over the Bills. He continues to lead the NFL in that category with 169.
