Brian Wilson, San Francisco Giants to Star in Reality Show on Showtime Network

Sports reality shows found new levels of success in 2010, as HBO created two critically acclaimed hits, a season of Hard Knocks with the often controversial New York Jets and the more recent 24/7, a mini-series tracking the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals as they prepared for the 2011 Winter Classic.

Now, their rivals over at Showtime are throwing their hats into the ring, as they are planning to create a similar reality show tracking the 2011 San Francisco Giants.

According to SFAppeal.com, Bonds on Bonds and Radio director Mike Tollin will be at the helm for the series tracking the world champions, and there will be a preview of the show at the beginning of the 2011 season before it airs in full in the second half of the campaign.

“The Giants are delighted to work with Showtime and Major League Baseball Productions on this exciting new project…This series will break new ground and will enable our team to forge an even closer connection with our fans and the public at large,” said Giants COO Larry Baer.

This, of course, means that viewers will have the opportunity to watch more off-color moments from Giants arms Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson.

The Machine may even make an appearance.

MLB Network produced a similar show in 2010, The Club, tracking the 2010 Chicago White Sox.
