Report: Adrian Beltre Close to Signing With Rangers, But No Deal Done Yet

Finally, the Adrian Beltre watch may be over.

According to ESPNDeportes.com, the veteran third baseman may be nearing a deal with the Texas Rangers. ESPN's Enrique Rojas reports that the deal will likely be a five-year contract.

Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman tweeted on Sunday night that the talks were still "ongoing," and although a deal hadn't been finished, there is "hope."

The 31-year-old has been linked to a few AL West teams. The Angels have long been thought to be one of the front-runners with the Rangers, and just recently, the A's dropped out of the race after multiple reported offerings for the All-Star.

Beltre hit .321 with 28 home runs and 102 RBIs in his first and only season with the Red Sox in 2010.
