Rex Ryan Dismisses Patriots, Says Jets Can Win Super Bowl Next Season

Anyone who thought that the end of the New York Jets’ season would also mean the end of Rex Ryan’s trash talking thought wrong. Ryan was back to his usual ways again following his team’s 24-19 loss in the AFC Championship on Sunday, and, to no surprise, was taking jabs at the Patriots.

According to ESPN.com, Ryan said that he expects to put up another playoff run in 2011, but also pointed out that the Patriots aren’t as much of a concern to the Jets considering their recent successes against New England.

”This isn't just about beating New England because, quite honestly, we've done a pretty good job of it," he said. "It seems like nobody else in the league can beat them, so we've got to find ways to beat Green Bay, to beat Baltimore, to beat these other teams we lost to."

The Jets beat the Patriots in two out of three matchups this season, but suffered losses to both the Packers and Ravens earlier in the regular season.

Ryan, as usual, was not shy to flaunt his confidence in the upcoming season, adding that he believes quarterback Mark Sanchez will continue to perform, despite a nagging shoulder injury that could require surgery.

He also all but guaranteed that the Jets would make it to the Super Bowl under his leadership, saying, “In my heart, I’ll believe that we’ll be champs.”
