Steven Gerrard Eyes Coaching or Media Career After Playing ‘Four or Five’ More Years

Though he may be in the midst of a three-match suspension for a controversial red card, Steven Gerrard is surely remaining optimistic about the future — both his own and Liverpool's.

The captain backed Kenny Dalglish to remain manager after this season, putting faith in the Liverpool legend to bring success back to the club.

Now, the 31-year-old has made his intentions about his footballing future clear.

"I believe I can play football for another four or five years but I do sometimes think about what I'm going to do when I finish playing," he told LFC Weekly.

That, he hopes, includes a future in coaching.

"I would like to stay involved in some capacity, whether that's on the media side or in the dugout we'll have to wait and see. I will certainly try to get my coaching qualifications at some point."

Still, Gerrard is staying focused on his present, which may just last a while.

"It's not my main priority or focus at the moment, I still think that's a long way off."
