Brad Marchand Leaves Practice Early With Minor Foot Injury, Should Be Able to Play Against Canucks

It looks like the Bruins dodged another big one, just as they did roughly two weeks ago when Patrice Bergeron was struck in the face with a puck during practice, as Brad Marchand had to leave practice early on Friday after he was hit with a shot.

According to The Boston Globe, Marchand had to be helped off the ice this morning after taking a shot from Bergeron off his right foot. The Bruins' standout rookie did not return after the incident.

Marchand downplayed the injury, saying that his foot was merely sore and that he should be on the ice for tomorrow's matchup against the Canucks.

Marchand has had a hot hand as of late, averaging a point per game with four goals in the Bruins' last five contests.

If Marchand's foot is too swollen for him to play, Daniel Paille — who was a scratch in last Tuesday's game against Calgary – could make his return to the lineup in the rookie's place.
