Francois Beauchemin Traded From Toronto Maple Leafs Back to Anaheim Ducks

Nineteen days before the trade deadline, Brian Burke is active.

The Toronto GM shipped defenseman Francois Beauchemin to Anaheim on Wednesday, in exchange for Joffrey Lupul and prospect Jake Gardiner. The Leafs also get a conditional 2013 draft pick from the Ducks.

Beauchemin, 30, won a Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007. He was a Duck from 2005-09 before signing with Toronto. He's under contract through next season, when he'll make $3.8 million. He had two goals and eight assists this season in 54 games for the struggling Leafs.

Lupul, 27, posted 5-8-13 totals in 26 games this season, while Gardiner, 20, has 30 points in 30 games for the University of Wisconsin this season.
