Justin Bieber Drains a Three, Throws an Alley-Oop to Win Celebrity Game MVP Honors

In 1969, Jerry West became the only player in NBA history to be named Finals MVP in a losing effort, as his Lakers fell 4-3 to the Celtics despite an amazing effort.

Justin Bieber followed in the logo’s footsteps on Friday, taking home All-Star Celebrity Game MVP honors despite his West team’s 54-49 loss.

Bieber notched eight points, two rebounds and four assists — including a three-pointer and an alley-oop pass, according to NBA.com.

“He played pretty well,” said leading-scorer Scottie Pippen, “but he has an ugly shot.”

“He’s got a nice little game,” Chris Mullin said of Bieber, “but more importantly, he’s got great passion. It looked like he loves the game.”

Even Bill Simmons got a case of Bieber fever in the wake of the game.

“He kept coming back,” he said. “He wasn’t afraid.”

It wasn’t all good for Bieber, though. He did go just 3-11 from the field, and was a minus-10 in 25 minutes of action.
