The Bruins are the talk of Boston after general manager Peter Chiarelli pulled the trigger on a pair of big deals Friday afternoon.
Within 20 minutes, the B’s announced two big-name acquisitions. First, around 2:30 p.m. ET, the B’s announced the acquisition of Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik from the Atlanta Thrashers for Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler. Shortly thereafter, the Bruins announced a deal that sent prospect Joe Colborne and draft picks to Toronto for defenseman Tomas Kaberle.
Chiarelli will hold a news conference at 4 p.m. ET at the TD Garden to talk about the moves.
