Dirk Kuyt has maintained a steady presence in the Liverpool lineup as the club has endured ups and downs in the past few years, and now, the 30-year-old Dutchman looks to be on track to commit his long-term future to the club.
According to The People, Kuyt is in talks over a new deal that would keep him in Anfield for years to come.
"My contract has one more season to go after this but there are things happening," said Kuyt.
"We have had some talks and I can only say it looks positive.
"I feel at home in Liverpool and I don't want to leave here," he proclaimed.
Since Kenny Dalglish has taken over as manager, Kuyt has not only enjoyed a noticeable improvement in form, but also has backed Dalglish to lead the club in the future.
"It has been a difficult time for everyone at the club with the changes that have happened since last summer but now I can sense something good is happening – I think Liverpool are on the way back," he said.
Kuyt has made over 220 appearances for Liverpool.
