Report: Jerry Sloan Resigning as Utah Jazz Head Coach

Longtime Jazz coach Jerry Sloan will resign on Thursday, according to KSL Newsradio in Utah.

The news comes as a shock, as Sloan, 68, is the longest-tenured coach in professional sports, having coached Utah since 1988. The Jazz are currently in second place in their division and sixth place in the Western Conference.

The report also says that assistant coach Phil Johnson will resign as well.

A Thursday afternoon news conference is expected to be held.
