Tiger Woods Golf Resort Construction Put on Hold Indefinitely in Dubai

Tiger Woods' eye-opening fall from grace is apparently not over.

The New York Post is reporting that construction on his billion-dollar luxury golf resort in Dubai has been halted.

The resort, called "The Tiger Woods Dubai," was set to open in September 2009, but due to multiple setbacks, only six holes have been completed to date, and construction has been slow. Now, it seems the project is on hold indefinitely.

Woods answered reporter's questions about the resort after his lackluster finish at the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday.

"It's still there," Woods said of the course."We've got six completed holes and a few that were about to be grassed before construction was halted. Everything is on hold."

The stoppage comes at a time of economic uncertainty, especially problematic for the resort, which features 22 residences costing north of $25 million, and 175 in the $10-15 million range.

While the lavish course is on hold, Woods' career also appears to be at somewhat of a standstill, as he continues to fall in the PGA rankings.
