The big right-hander got his feet wet in a two-inning effort against Atlanta last Wednesday. He surrendered four hits — one a solo homer — in that outing. Lackey figures to get three innings of work this time out, maybe four if he is efficient.
Lackey threw primarily fastballs in that start. He said he will try to vary his arsenal a bit more this time out, but will continue to pump in four-seamers in an effort to build up his arm strength.
Dan Wheeler, Randy Williams and Kyle Weiland are among those scheduled to appear in relief.
Boston is 3-5 (with one tie) on the Grapefruit League slate after a 6-5 loss to the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie on Sunday.

Outfielder Ryan Kalish was the winner of the "Dancing with the New Stars" event Saturday night, defending his crown from 2010. The event, which raises money for The Red Sox Foundation, has veterans judge some of the younger players in camp on their dance moves. Kalish beat out challengers Ryan Lavarnway, Jason Rice and Luis Exposito.
Among those on the judge's panel were Tim Wakefield, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis.
