Carl Crawford is back in the top spot in the Red Sox lineup for a Sunday afternoon meeting with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Batting only .137 and just 3-for-28 (with no walks) in the leadoff role, Crawford was given his first day off as a member of the team Saturday afternoon. Jed Lowrie hit first and went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.
Crawford is 5-for-10 with a home run against Blue Jays starter Jesse Litsch.
Lowrie will be rewarded for his effort Saturday. He will play shortstop and bat sixth against Litsch.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia carries a .138 (4-for-29) average into the day's game. He will bat eighth in between J.D. Drew and Jacoby Ellsbury, who has three hits and two walks in 14 plate appearances vs. Litsch.
