Carmelo Anthony Appears on David Letterman, Excited for Battle with Celtics

Carmelo Anthony certainly doesn’t mind being on the spotlight. He plays at Madison Square Garden and recently appeared on Saturday Night Live.

On Thursday night before the NBA playoffs get started, Anthony sat with CBS’ David Letterman for the first time since he won the national championship with Syracuse in 2003.

Letterman asked Anthony about his experience playing in New York, the Knickerbocker responded that’s it’s the “best city in the world” and Madison Square Garden is the “mecca of basketball.”

However, Anthony has yet to find a permanent place in New York City, “living out of the suitcase right now.”

“You know, there’s hotels,” Letterman replied, “but don’t try to steal the towels.”

Letterman also asked the small forward what it’s going to be like playing Boston. Anthony responded that he was “excited” for what he described will be a “battle,” but wouldn’t make any predictions and his team just hopes to get the second round.

“It’s going to be a battle, I can tell you that,” he said. “Nothing more, nothing less. It’s going to be a battle.”
