Injured winger Max Pacioretty is progressing well in his recovery from a broken vertebra and concussion, but he will not return for the Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs.
The Montreal Gazette reported that Pacioretty continues to skate separately from the team, but head coach Jacques Martin said that Pacrioretty "isn't close to returning."
Pacioretty, a 22-year-old native of Connecticut, sustained the injuries on March 8, when Zdeno Chara hit him into the stanchion between the benches at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
