Yet, that doesn't mean he likes it.
The always-outspoken Guillen was understandably upset on Wednesday, after closer Matt Thornton blew his fourth save of the young season. Thornton's WHIP is now at 3.214, which, for a closer, is not exactly ideal.
Guillen was asked after the game about his closer situation, and he quickly snapped, "I don't have any closer."
As the Chicago Tribune reports, it was just the start of his outburst.
"I see the same [stuff] you guys see. Exactly same [stuff]," Guillen said. "When we play good, they send those guys to this [gosh-darned] table and [reporters] talk to them like they're heroes. When we [mess] it up, I'm the one who has to [curse word] sit here and talk to you guys."
With that, Guillen took off, presumably to try to find a hero.

"What I said [Tuesday] night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone."

If there's one person whose compete level you don't have to worry about on Thursday night, it's Jack Edwards.
