Bruins Receive Environmental Merit Award for Donating Unsold Food to Local Shelters

The Boston Bruins were given the Environmental Merit Award on Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency for their work in donating food to places of need in Boston.

The team, as part of the Rock and Wrap It Up! initiative, donated food from the TD Garden that was prepared but unsold to local shelters and other places of need. In total, the team and the Garden donated 4,950 meals and 6,950 pounds of food to the Boston Rescue Mission.
