Doc Rivers’ Anger While Watching Film Put on Hold Upon Hearing News of Osama Bin Laden’s Death

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Everyone remembers where they were during certain events that defined generations in American history — Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination, and of course the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Perhaps Sunday night will be remembered the same way, for the announcement of Osama bin Laden's death.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers certainly remembers where he was — he was holed away in his office studying the wreckage of the C's Game 1 loss Sunday to the Miami Heat.

"I was watching film," Rivers said. "It actually put things in their proper place when you're watching film and you're cussing to yourself, you're writing bad words down on a piece of paper, and then all of a sudden this comes on.

"It was awesome. Just like we remember 9/11, I think we'll remember this moment as well. It was really neat. It was awesome. It was just great to see."
