Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett Named to NBA All-Defensive First Team

Kevin Garnett joined some elite company on Monday, earning NBA All-Defensive First Team honors for the ninth time in his career. He joins Kobe Bryant, who was also named to the team Monday, Michael Jordan and Gary Payton for the most in NBA history.

Garnett was not the only Celtics player named to the team, though, as point guard Rajon Rondo earned the honor for the second straight season. He was named to the All-Defensive Second Team in 2009.

Magic center Dwight Howard led voting, as he received 27 first-place votes. Former Celtic Tony Allen was named to the All-Defensive Second Team, falling 10 points shy of First Team honors.

Head coaches vote by position, but they aren't allowed to vote for their own players. A first-place vote counts for two points, and a second-place vote counts for one. The full teams are below, with total points listed next to each player.
