If Gus Johnson is going to be yelling his trademark catchphrases this college basketball season, it's going to be on a network other than CBS.
According to SI.com, the loud and animated Johnson could not come to terms on a new contract with CBS, and he and the network have decided to part ways after 16 seasons.
In addition to becoming one of the most well-known college basketball TV announcers, Johnson also did work covering the NFL, college football and the 1998 Winter Olympics for CBS.
While at CBS, Johnson became known for his wild and sometimes over-the-top calls. Some love the way he calls games, while others have been rather outspoken in criticism of the way he does his job.
The report also cites industry sources that say that Johnson and Fox Sports have had discussions about Johnson coming on board to call college football games.
