Rumored Photos of Winter Classic Jerseys for Flyers, Rangers Making Rounds on Internet

In the era of Photoshop, you can make just about anything look real, so take in the following photos with the understanding that they may be fake.

The first photo comes from Twitter, where a Flyers fan asked Mike Richards and James van Riemsdyk what they thought of the jerseys.

Real or fake, the jersey design got van Riemsdyk’s approval.

“pretty sick jerseys if those r them,” he tweeted.

The other photo came from Philly.Barstoolsports.com, and it was sent in by a user. It provides a clear picture of the Winter Classic logo, as well as the jerseys of both the Rangers and Flyers.

Considering that some pictures originally intended to just be mock-ups end up getting spread around the Internet, like this one or this one, it’s probably safer to assume these won’t be the jerseys you see on New Year’s Day.

If the Flyers were to go with that look, it would be an homage to the Philadelphia Quakers, the city’s first NHL team that lasted just one pitiful year. The Quakers went 4-36-4 in 1930-31, so the Flyers may not want to invoke that losing spirit when they host the Rangers next January.
