Which Red Sox Pitcher Deserves Amica Pitcher of the Week Honors? The Red Sox have come within one game of reaching .500 three times this season, with the most recent coming on Monday, May 9 against the Twins.

That 2-1 victory at Fenway Park was the result of a fine effort by starter Josh Beckett, who was unfortunately unable to get the decision. Beckett fired seven shutout innings, allowing just six hits while striking out five. Hideki Okajima eventually got the win, but Beckett’s gem can’t be forgotten.

On Saturday, May 7 against the Twins, Clay Buchholz stymied Minnesota’s lineup for five innings and allowed no runs on just two hits and six strikeouts, en route to his third win of the season.
