Alex Burrows Bites Patrice Bergeron During Game 1 of Stanley Cup Final (Video)

Jun 2, 2011

It took all of 20 minutes for the Stanley Cup Final to get good and get heated.

As the first period of Wednesday’s series opener between the Bruins and Canucks came to an end, Alex Burrows and Patrice Bergeron got tangled behind the Bruins net.

Video appeared to show Burrows biting Bergeron on the right hand as the two tussled after the period came to an end.

Both Bergeron and Burrows were assessed roughing penalties, but Burrows receieved an extra 2-minute minor for roughing.

“He bit me,” Bergeron said during the game, according to the team’s Twitter feed. “That’s not OK.”
