Bruins’ Amstel Light Drinker Was Actually Party Crasher Who Rooted For Canucks During the Finals

While a $100,000 bottle of champagne was passed around during the Bruins’ celebration at the MGM Grand-Foxwoods Casino, one lone attendee made themselves content with a cool Amstel Light. In appreciation of the $6 beverage, Amstel Brewery offered to reward the Bruin who ordered the beer. As it turns out, that person wasn't a player.

The person was Shallon Lester, New York-based female blogger, who happened to be at Foxwoods the night the boys were partying. Lester and her friend crashed the party, and according to Lester, they ended up bowling with Milan Lucic, getting hit on by Jordan Caron and drinking with the team.

"Shawn Thornton was kind enough to pass the Stanley Cup full of Ace of Spades our way," Lester told Deadspin.com, "but the champagne was warm and gross so I ordered a beer from the waitress."

If passing up an opportunity to drink from the cup isn't bad enough, get this — Lester admits she was rooting for the Canucks during the Stanley Cup Finals.

Lester revealed her beverage of choice via Twitter, stating: "Uh sorry guys, it was me. Seriously. RT @nbc_sports: Which @NHLBruins ordered the lone #AmstelLight on the $156,000 tab?"

Amstel Light announced Tuesday that the company would provide the player who drank the Amstel with beer for their day with the Cup and for their Fourth of July/Canada Day celebration.
