After everything Mark Cuban has done to benefit the Dallas Mavericks, you'd think the players would never question the man who not only signs their pay-checks, but also wants to pay for a championship victory parade himself – which 250,000 fans are expected to attend.

But after Cuban declared championship rings "old school," Mavericks players disagreed with their owner on how to showcase their championship.

"We got to talk to him about that," Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki said to ESPN.com. "I don't think the last word has been spoken yet. You know he always wants to do something different, wants to do something bigger, but I mean, the ring is just so classic."

Head coach Rick Carlisle agreed with his star players' testament.

"It's got to be rings. I don't know what [Cuban's] thinking," Carlisle said to ESPN.com "You win an NBA championship, you gotta have a ring. If he wants to give guys something else [in addition to] a ring, that's great."

Carlisle already owns one championship ring from his playing days, when he was a reserve guard on the Boston Celtics' 1986 championship team.
