The largest Fourth of July celebration in America is getting a little something extra this year.
The fast-paced Extreme Sailing Series is coming to Boston Harborfest from June 30-July 4.
"Boston is proud to be the first U.S. city to host the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series to our waterfront for the city's July 4th celebration –- one of the largest in the nation," said Boston mayor Thomas Menino.
The award-winning circuit features some of the best skippers in the world hailing from 15 countries and showcases former Olympians, including two gold-medal winners. The skippers will race each other in identical boats along the inner harbor.
Fireworks, live entertainment and a Red Bull energy stand will also be on display.
