One of Liverpool's main transfer targets, Gael Clichy, is now headed to Manchester City, and the Reds have now turned their focus elsewhere.
According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool is interested in Inter Milan left-back Cristian Chivu. Chivu will not be easy for Anfield to snag, however. They will reportedly have stiff competition from Valencia and Napoli for his services, and Chivu would reportedly like to stay in Milan. But the Romanian international, who has one year remaining on his contract, might not be in Inter's long-term plans and is a good bet to be a transfer candidate.
Chivu, 30, notched one goal on 13 shots in 24 games with Inter during the 2010-11 season.
