Marco Scutaro Returns to Red Sox Lineup Tuesday Night, Batting Ninth Against Freddy Garcia

Marco Scutaro will be back in the Red Sox lineup for the first time in exactly one month when the club takes on the New York Yankees on Tuesday night.

Scutaro had been sidelined with a strained oblique muscle. He went 5-for-11 with four runs, one double and a walk in three rehab games with Triple-A Pawtucket. Scutaro was 6-for-11 with a home run in four games before going on the disabled list.

Reliever Scott Atchison will be optioned to Pawtucket to make room on the roster for Scutaro.

The veteran shortstop returns at a good time. He is 6-for-12 with two triples and one double against Yankees starter Freddy Garcia. David Ortiz and Carl Crawford will be happy to see the right-hander, against whom they are a combined 16-for-53 (.302) with three home runs.

The first four hitters in Boston's order are just 6-for-35 (.171) against Garcia, who was out-dueled by Jon Lester here back in May.

With Lester on the mound once again, below are the batting orders.
