Despite numerous reports to the contrary before the lockout took center stage, Andre Iguodala hopes to stay in Philadelphia, according to CSNphilly.com.
After declining to comment if he wanted to stay in Philly shortly after being eliminated by the Miami Heat, Iguodala admitted that he is happy with the 76ers and is focusing on ways to improve the team.
"I definitely enjoy being here," Iguodala told the network at a local basketball camp on Saturday. "Evan [Turner] and I were speaking late last night. We had a really good conversation about how we can really play well together, how we can make each other better so we are looking forward to next year. We even talked about what we were going to do after practice next year. So I am definitely looking forward to improving myself and playing ball."
It's not exactly a sure thing that the second-year player out of Ohio State and the veteran from Arizona can coexist on the court, and with Turner's play improving in the last month of the season and the playoffs, the Sixers may be better shipping off Iggy in hopes of a scoring two-guard, which is why the proposed trade that would have brought Monta Ellis to Philadelphia for Iguodala would have made so much sense.
