Bruins Acquire Defenseman Joe Corvo From Carolina for Fourth-Round Pick

While the Bruins lost free-agent defenseman Tomas Kaberle to the Hurricanes on Tuesday, they were able to acquire a now former Carolina blueliner.

The B's acquired Joe Corvo from the Hurricanes in exchange for a 2012 fourth-round pick, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Corvo, a fourth-round pick in 1997, played in all 82 games for the Hurricanes last season, registering 40 points on 11 goals and 29 asssists.

The 34-year-old has spent time with Carolina, Washington, Ottawa and Los Angeles over 10 NHL seasons.
