Celtics Draft Pick E’Twaun Moore Signs One-Year Deal With Italian Team, Contract Includes Opt-Out Clause

Guard E'Twaun Moore, the Celtics' second-round pick in the 2011 draft, signed a one-year contract with the Italian professional team Benetton Treviso on Thursday, the Boston Herald reports.

The deal is worth $200,000 and includes an opt-out clause that will allow the 6-foot-3 guard to return to the U.S. when the lockout ends — something that Moore said he wouldn't have agreed to the contract without.

"There were some offers on the table. I just wanted one where I could come back and play for the Celtics when it was time," Moore said. "That was very important to me. Playing in the NBA has always been a dream of mine, and [Treviso] respected that."

Meanwhile, JaJuan Johnson, the team's first-round pick and Moore's teammate at Purdue, is not likely to play overseas during the lockout, according to the report.
