Deion Sanders Jr. Tweets He Was Hassled For Using ‘Deion Sanders’ Credit Card at Chick-Fil-A

Let’s make two things clear:  

1) Deion Sanders Jr. did not steal a credit card to buy Chick-Fil-A at a Dallas mall.
2) If he had, we understand. Really. Chick-Fil-A is that delicious.

But police did the inexcusable Wednesday when they reportedly attempted to come between Sanders Jr. and his lunch at North Park Center, a shopping center in Dallas. On Twitter, Sanders Jr. guessed they were suspicious of his credit card, which, of course, said “Deion Sanders.”

As Sanders Jr. tweeted:

“They thought I stole the card or somethin cuz it said Deion Sanders. I’m like sir I’m not tryna be cocky but you can google me and see…”

Sanders Jr. is the quarterback at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, and son of former All-Pro cornerback Deion Sanders. He’s right about Googling him; a search of his name brings up his profile on numerous recruiting websites.

The Dallas Morning News contacted officials at the mall, who said they were unaware of the incident. There was no word as to whether Sanders Jr. ever uttered his father’s favorite Twitter term, #hop, as in “hold on, playa.”

Millions of Americans each year suffer the worrisome experience of identity theft. Victims will attest that it can be nerve-wracking to know another person is misusing their social security, bank account or credit card numbers.

Customers at the North Park Center need have no fear. Police and mall employees clearly have taken identity protection to a new level, not only preventing would-be thieves from using other peoples’ identities, but preventing innocent people from using their own identities as well.

It’s a fool-proof method.
