Lately, the Florida Panthers and general manager Dave Tallon have been enticing a lot of players to go down South. Now that list has been expanded to include assistant coaches.

The Panthers announced on Thursday that Craig Ramsay, a coaching veteran of nearly 40 years who has been with a host of teams, including the Boston Bruins, is rejoining the Panthers. He served as an assistant coach during the team's first two seasons in the NHL.

As a player, Ramsay appeared in 1,070 games and earned the Selke trophy. Ramsay served as an assistant coach of the Bruins from 2007-10, and was Atlanta's head coach last season. The Atlanta franchise was purchased by a new ownership group that moved the team to Winnipeg and decided not to keep the same coaching staff.

"It is great to be able to rejoin the Florida Panthers organization and come back home again," Ramsay said.
