Brian Wilson, the San Francisco Giants' wild closer, is known for boastful predictions. If his latest prophecy is correct, the Bearded One will be returning home for this year's World Series.
Wilson, a native of Londonderry, N.H., believes that his Giants will play the Boston Red Sox in this year's Fall Classic, reports the Boston Globe.
"I already called it earlier this year. So look for it. It's going to happen," Wilson said. "It would be a lot of fun. I've always wanted to go into Fenway as a baseball player. … It would be epic."
Already the owner of one World Series ring — which he won last season against the Texas Rangers — Wilson grew up a Red Sox fan but has never pitched at Fenway Park.
"I was there to see the Junior Pan-American Games when I was 13 and a few Red Sox-Yankees matchups." he said. "I've never been there as a baseball player. It would be fun to go there for the Series."
Seeing Wilson pitch would be a treat for the Fenway Faithful as well, as the eccentric fireballer is one of the most interesting and intimidating men in baseball.
The Sox and Giants are both in good position thus far, as both lead their respective divisions entering this week's All-Star break.
