Josh Reddick In Right Field for Red Sox Despite J.D. Drew’s Strong Numbers Against Seattle’s Felix Hernandez

Very few hitters in the majors have had success over their careers against Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez. Red Sox outfielder J.D. Drew is one of those few. That said, Drew will be on on the bench when the reigning Cy Young winner takes the mound at Fenway Park on Friday night.

That's because Josh Reddick will stay in Terry Francona's lineup on Friday night, playing in right field and hitting seventh when the Sox and M's open a three-game set in Boston. It will be Reddick's first time seeing Hernandez, while Drew, who is a .360 (9-for-25) hitter with two home runs against Hernandez, will be watching from the dugout.

Friday night marks the return of David Ortiz to the Red Sox lineup after finishing up a three-game suspension he served during the Baltimore series. Ortiz is a .263 (5-for-19) lifetime hitter against Hernandez with a home run.

Hernandez enters the start with a 3-0 record to go with a 1.49 ERA in his five career starts at Fenway Park.
