McDonald’s to Erect 32,000 Square-Foot Restaurant for 2012 Summer Olympics in London

As is their way, McDonald's is taking super-sizing to a whole new level.

With the 2012 summer Olympics in London rapidly approaching, the world's largest fast-food chain is planning to build their largest restaurant ever — a 32,000 square foot, two-story facility capable of seating 1,300 Big Mac addicts, according to msnbc.com.

The massive McDonald's will be one of four erected around the area for the Olympics, including one in the athletes' village, although it's unclear how many Olympians have a steady dose of McDonald's in their training regimen.

The biggest hurdles for the fast-food giant include having enough ingredients on hand and having an adequate staff.

"A lot of work goes into making sure we have enough ingredients on hand. But we have done a great job in the past managing these massive event," Melissa Daly, a communications supervisor for McDonald's, told msnbc.com.

"Training the crew is another challenge, but we will have the best of the best workers coming to work in London," Daly added.

It will certainly be interesting to see how McDonald's will gather enough all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions and sesame seed buns to satisfy an Olympic-size appetite.
