Report: J.C. Romero Signs With Yankees

The Yankees added an experienced arm on Thursday.

Just minutes after J.C. Romero was released by the Nationals, ESPN's Buster Olney reported, via Twitter, that the Yankees signed the lefty to a minor league deal, and he could be pitching Thursday night for Scranton, New York's Triple-A affiliate.

The Yankees will be Romero's third organization of the year as the southpaw started the season with the Phillies, where he posted a 3.86 ERA in 16 1/3 innings before being released in June.

Romero appeared in 23 games for the Red Sox on 2007, posting a 3.15 ERA in 20 innings pitched.
