Report: Texas Rangers Making Hardest Push for Carlos Beltran

With the Carlos Beltran sweepstakes heating up, it appears as though the Texas Rangers could be the front-runners.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Rangers are making the hardest push for Beltran. Meanwhile, the Braves and Red Sox also reportedly remain in the mix for the star outfielder, with the Giants and Phillies fading.

Beltran has a no-trade clause, so he would need to approve a trade first. While it was previously believed that the outfielder's not keen on moving to the AL because he doesn't want to become a designated hitter, Beltran's agent, Scott Boras, told ESPN.com that his client wants to go where he has a "great chance to win."

Beltran, a six-time All-Star, is batting .291 with 15 home runs and 64 RBIs this season.
