While Ryan Newman edged Tony Stewart to pick up his first win of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, Carl Edwards did what he had to do to ensure that Roush Fenway came out of the race at the top of the Spring Cup heap.

Driving the No. 13 Ortho Ford, Edwards finished in 13th position, which was good enough for him to reclaim the Sprint Cup point lead after 19 races. He leads second-place Jimmie Johnson by seven points.

Dave Ragan finished just behind Edwards in 14th, while Greg Biffle finished 18th and Matt Kenseth finished 20th for Roush Fenway.

Kenseth is now sixth in points this season, which includes two race wins. Ragan moved up to 13th in the Sprint Cup points standings, while Biffle now sits at 15th.

The next Sprint Cup race is the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Roush Fenway has 14 top-five finishes and 27 top-10 finishes at the famed track.

Only seven races remain until the Chase field is set. The top 10 drivers automatically earn a spot, and two spots will go to the winningest drivers ranked between 11 and 20.
