Penguins star Sidney Crosby, who hasn't played since January, has progressed to the point that he hopes to be ready to go for Pittsburgh's training camp.

"He's at home and back on the ice and doing his off ice per a scheduled routine," Pittsburgh general manager Ray Shero told ESPN.com in an e-mail Friday. "Plan is to continue to build up and be ready for training camp."

Pat Brisson, Crosby's agent, also said the forward has returned to his normal off-season training routine, which includes an on-ice training segment in Nova Scotia in July, ESPN.com reports.

The last time Crosby worked out on the ice was in April, before headaches forced the 23-year-old to sit. He has yet to face physical contact on the ice since his concussion.
