Emily Steinberg Credits ‘Work Before Play’ Attitude for Surviving Cancer, Now Shares Knowledge With Her Biology Students

Emily Steinberg was diagnosed with leukemia as an 18-year-old in 1993, but she didn't let it affect her quality of life. Instead, she took charge in order to overcome it.

Steinberg is a mother and a high school biology and chemistry teacher at Lowell High School. She said that, in order to overcome the disease, she just viewed it as a bump in the road. Now, she's using her experiences to teach her students.
